Wedding Receptions

Wedding receptions can be as elaborate or as simple as you want them to be - there are no set packages for them. However, all wedding receptions have a common structure. There is the gathering of the guests in the lobby, the dinner itself, speeches, entertainment and the late snack or sweet table. The manager of the St. Elias Centre will meet with you and guide you through choices for every step of the event. He will take the drudgery out of the planning process and even make the process an enjoyable experience. You need to reserve the hall for a specific date and time, work out the details with the manager, sign a contract and relax. The St. Elias Centre will take care of staging the event to your satisfaction.

Room and Floor Plan

Decorations for a Wedding Reception

From the size of your guest list, the manager suggests an appropriate configuration of the hall (one room or both rooms) and a floor plan showing the locations of the guest tables, head table and dance floor. You generate a seating plan for your guests and notify the manager of any requirement for special meals.

Food and Beverage Selection

There are many food and beverage choices available for the pre-dinner reception in the lobby, the main meal and the sweet table and/or late snack. Please refer to the Menu page for a description of menu items and packages available to you.

Services Provided by the St. Elias Centre

The St. Elias Centre sets up the tables and prepares and serves the food. It provides your choice of napkins, overlays, tablecloths and candles. It sets up a head table in accordance with your instructions and provides a podium and public address system as required. Ceremonial options include time of arrival of guests, time of arrival of bridal party, yes or no for a receiving line, yes or no for saying grace, and the times for serving the meal and the late snack (if one is desired).

Bar and Wine Service

The St. Elias Centre provides bar and wine service. For bar service, there are three choices:

  1. Cash bar
  2. A host bar by consumption as determined through an inventory count
  3. A host bar where you pay a set fee per guest for up to four hours of unlimited consumption.

External Service Providers

You contract separately with decorators, flower shops, photographers, musicians, DJ’s, limousines, audio visual equipment providers, etc. You can count on the St. Elias Centre manager to recommend service providers and to work with them to make your wedding reception a success.
